In July 2013, Andrew and I worked on a project with Lancashire Music Hub to look at using accessible music technology in SEN/D settings. David Ashworth led the project, which culminated in a musical performance inspired by ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. It combined the use of iPads, Skoog, Soundbeam and Apollo Ensemble to create a multi-sensory show.
We worked with part of the group on developing visuals, lighting and effects to help illustrate the different movements in the piece. All these elements were then controlled via Apollo Ensemble using a number of accessible controllers including a Dice, floor pads and wireless Xbox Controllers.
David put together the video below to show some of the final performance. All the lighting and images are being triggered and controlled by the young people as they respond to the music.
